Ron has received a 25 year Callers Certificate from Callerlab

RESUME

Ron Nilson started dancing in 1973 and in 1980 attended caller's school in McCloud under the direction and guidance of Bob VanAntwerp one of the most noted and popular callers of the time. He joined CALLERLAB in 1983 after three years of apprenticeship and went to his first CALLERLAB convention in 1983. After calling for several years he received his first accreditation signed by six other callers also in good standing with CALLERLAB. He has been a member of CALLERLAB since. He is also licensed by ASCAP and BMI through that organization which allows legal calling in any state and country. He was awarded the quarter century certificate for twenty-five years of calling in 2006. Ron calls from one night stands to A2.

He has called in six States and in Canada and also has called at six National Square Dance Conventions. He has called and taught at several dude ranches, weddings, churches, convalescent homes, R.V. resorts including Rambling Rose for the summers of two years, festivals and private organizations including the Bonanza Ranch House in Lake Tahoe and the Riverfront Playhouse.  He taught classes for schools in Anderson, Red Bluff, Chico, and Willows. He has called on paddleboats, houseboats, and on floats in parades. He has called for five clubs in the Anderson, Redding, Oroville and the Red Bluff area during the years of 1985-1990. From 1991 to date he has been a traveling caller calling for five clubs in Northern Nevada, Anderson, Redding, Eureka and the Shingletown area.

In 1984 Ron built the first square dance center in Anderson with the first floating wood floor which was danced on and enjoyed by hundreds of dancers. Many top line callers were invited by Ron to call at this unique center. Ron graduated countless students into the wonderful world of square dancing over the years and enjoyed every minute of it!
